Dolce Luxe Candles started as an inspiration to combine Renaissance Art with Home Decor. We love having pieces like this in our homes that fill the room with Timeless Luxury, Inspire Faith, and Create Emotional Expression without the worry of harming our health.  We spent months researching the candle making process and sourcing the highest quality ingredients to bring our creation to life to share. With a mix of Modern, Rustic, & Romance. We have many creations and options for your home. Residing in Nashville Tennessee and our love for the mountains, we also wanted to bring taste of the Rustic Decor with Elements of Nature with our one-of-a-kind wooden vessels.

Candles have been used for light and to illuminate celebrations for more than 5,000 years. The Egyptians were using wicked candles in 3,000 B.C., but the Ancient Romans are generally credited with developing the wicked candle before that time by dipping rolled papyrus repeatedly in beeswax. Dolce Luxe Candles being Sicilian American with their family tree going back to Ancient Rome continues the tradition to its roots by continuing the tradition of using beeswax and candle making - the wax of choice for ancient Roman emperors.

Renaissance is a French word, deriving its origins from the Italian word rinascita, which means “rebirth”. The Renaissance era was a period of rebirth in almost all the cultural and societal faculties and institutions throughout Europe, including art, science, mathematics, technology, philosophy, religion, and politics, to name a few. 

Known as the Renaissance, the period immediately following the Middle Ages in Europe saw a great revival of interest in the classical learning and values of ancient Greece and Rome. Against a backdrop of political stability and growing prosperity, the development of new technologies–including the printing press, a new system of astronomy and the discovery and exploration of new continents–was accompanied by a flowering of philosophy, literature and especially art. 

The style of painting, sculpture and decorative arts identified with the Renaissance emerged in Italy in the late 14th century; it reached its zenith in the late 15th and early 16th centuries, in the work of Italian masters such as Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo and Raphael. 

In addition to its expression of classical Greco-Roman traditions, Renaissance art sought to capture the experience of the individual and the beauty and mystery of the natural world.
